Project Read: Phonics and Linguistics

The Project Read program is part of a five tiered approach of effective literacy instruction. The program emphasizes systematic, direct instruction of concepts and skills supported and enhanced by a teaching approach that includes visual, kinesthetic, auditory and tactile strategies (VAKT), and the use of body language. The components being utilized have been matched to the needs of the students and build upon an sound/symbol relationships to build a strong understanding of sound/symbol relationship, grapheme origin, and expanded vocabulary.
